FW12 Runway Report

Far East Movement

The Far East has influenced the world for centuries, and now the fashion industry is tapping Asia for ready-to-wear inspiration.

Designers like Matthew Williamson and Jason Wu are turning Japanese needlepoint embroidery, hira-nui stitching, and shusu metallic yarns into embellishments for the bags and shoes on their respective runways. We’ve picked 10 of the best looks to show off this style, from Zac Posen’s literal take on the trend with his siheyuan-shaped beaded clutch, to Rag & Bone’s Japanese floral-printed tote.
