Katie Holmes for Bobbi Brown
In September, Katie Holmes was announced as the first-ever celebrity face of the Bobbi Brown brand. While some brands choose to elevate the visibility of their brands in the global marketplace by adding a celebrity face to their ad campaigns, the collaboration between Bobbi Brown and Katie Holmes arose organically. “I never set out to find a celebrity face. I hired a woman who just so happens to be a celebrity. Katie and I met through a mutual friend and instantly clicked. We’re both girls from the Midwest, entrepreneurs, and mothers who live multidimensional lives,” shares Brown.
Beyond their lives having many common aspects, Brown chose Holmes because she is a natural representation of the Bobbi Brown brand. With her classic American beauty and effortlessly chic appearance, it is easy to see that Holmes’ beauty dovetails perfectly with the brand’s aesthetic. Brown explains her choice in depth by stating, “One of my favorite beauty icons of all time is Ali McGraw who is beautiful without trying to be. When I met Katie Holmes she instantly reminded me of Ali – a natural beauty that I can relate to. She embodies the modern Bobbi Brown Cosmetics woman: confident, down to earth, positive spirit, beautiful inside and out. I love how Katie Holmes is a real woman who juggles a career, supports her community through her charity Dizzy Feet, and is a doting mother.”
Brown is known for revolutionizing the beauty industry in 1991 by introducing a range of makeup that enhanced natural beauty rather than covered it up. This is one aspect that Holmes personally appreciates about the brand and its maker. “Bobbi is exceptional and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is a company that we, as women, all turn to because it is makeup that is very accessible and makes you feel pretty. Sometimes it is just a lipstick or a blush that makes you feel like you can do what you need to do. Makeup is powerful and I am thrilled to be a part of this brand,” says Holmes.
