Zara Martin
British TV presenter (and all-around cool gal) Zara Martin answers 10 quick-fire questions – and shares her FW10 picks – with our editor over a tea-and-biscuit morning affair.
MY STYLE IN THREE WORDS… Hair and heels.
I NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT… My Blackberry and Malin Goetz’s lip balm.
I LIKE TO SPLURGE ON… Cashmere, or anything from Opening Ceremony, which is my favorite store in the world. There’s literally nothing in Opening Ceremony I wouldn’t want to buy.
I LIKE TO SAVE ON… Nail polish and sunglasses. Ray-Bans are my favorite.
I HAVE A STYLE CRUSH ON… Chloé Sevigny, Erin Wasson, and Lenny Kravitz (seriously). And Diane Kruger, who looks sophisticated even if she’s wearing the shortest skirt in the world.
MY FAVORITE DESIGNERS ARE… All the London newbies like Felder Felder, Méchante of London, William Tempest, and BodyAmr, whose last collection I collaborated on. I also love the Dubai-based label KAGE, which is really cool and very different for the region. They’re more in line with designers in New York!
MY FAVORITE FASHION WEEK CITY IS… Obviously London for the creativity and Paris for the drama, but I’m currently loving Copenhagen for the rising talent.
THREE INVESTMENT PIECES FOR FW10 ARE… The Lanvin Happy bag, a Rika leather and shearling jacket, and a Daisy Knights feather ring, which I wore on a shoot yesterday. It’s unreal.
A TREND I WISH WOULD GO AWAY… Crocs. They really make me feel ill.
A PIECE EVERY GIRL SHOULD HAVE IN HER WARDROBE IS… Excuse me, a Zara Martin and BodyAmr dress!
