Luxe Sweats

In both their fall and spring collections, designers showcased a new form of laidback chic that is comfortable, wearable and stylish to boot: the luxe sweat.

Isabel Marant’s fall show, in particular, championed this versatile activewear/knitwear combo and transformed it into an easy, cool piece paired with tiered printed skirts and studded boots for a perfect daytime ensemble. Alexander Wang’s spring collection also heavily featured the luxe sweat, making it one of the trends we’re most looking forward to for the new season. Comfortable and versatile, luxe sweats look amazing à la Marant, but can also tone down (and provide an edgy contrast) to sequined pieces for day. Just take a perfectly-fitting piece like Proenza Schouler’s cropped sleeve wool pullover – or feel free to grab one of the higher-quality basics from your own closet! – add an edgy separate, and voila, you’ve pared down Parisian chic in a moment!
