The story of Miu Miu’s fall collection is all about a fun and playful sixties-inspired, Edie Sedgwick-like roundup of blacks, purples, and oranges. With sexy short silhouettes – all the better to show off tanned and toned legs after the summer – and playful proportions like on a lovely little pinafore dress, Miuccia Prada mixed quirky motifs (oversized pockets, offbeat embellishments) with girlish accents (bows, lace, and floral appliqués galore!) for a superbly tailored yet totally minimalist collection with a sweet sixties vibe. The last show in a month-long fashion extravaganza, the collection left a fresh and playful imprint on a fantastic – yet back-to-the-roots and toned-down – Fall 2010 season.
