Best of Paris Fashion Week
Chloé SS11
It would not be a Chloé collection without a dedication to the color beige, and, thus, beige was the shade du jour.
While this collection stuck with its roots, it departed into a less masculine influence than typically seen on Chloé runways. While this collection was more feminine than its counterparts, it was still incredibly strong – each outfit giving off a confident, contained vibe. The minimalist effort was in the majority, but in the minority we found some whimsical, wispy dresses made of sheer chiffon that brought movement to the overall collection.
Images of Grecian goddesses, ballerinas, and Wall Street businesswomen are conjured in the mind when viewing this collection. One thing to look for is leather in unexpected places. There were leather tops and leather shorts that would have seemed out of place if not for their well-cut and seamless fit with the pants and tops they were paired with. There is one red dress in this collection in a mute crimson shade that, while subdued in concept, really provided a refreshing blast of color in an otherwise neutral campaign.
