Jonathan Saunders Spring 2012
Jonathan Saunders, known for his feminine prints and shapes, takes his British sensibilities to South Beach in search of inspiration. This collection is laced with summery, Miami prints that are zesty and colorful, but still fit for a lady.
Although… there is something in this collection that is not entirely prim and proper. It’s in the black liquid eyeliner that wings out at the sides, in the semi-sheer camisoles, and the body-revealing silky dresses. The 60s silhouettes are refined and restrained, but it’s the attitude of this collection that lends it an air of subversivity. Jonathan Saunders’ recent explorations on this theme have resulted in some fine handiwork, and this is perhaps his most mature attempt so far.
