Marios Schwab Spring 2012
Marios Schwab’s SS12 catwalk is fit for both a Bond villain and Bond vixen. This is where danger meets desire. Schwab’s lingerie DNA bleeds through this collection in the form of figure-revealing attire that puts sex at the center of the runway. This is not a collection for tweens, hipsters, or street style mavens. It’s for adult women with one thing on their mind.
This seductive show featured clinging, sheer dresses outfitted in oversized mesh, sideswept hair, and “I’m not wearing anything underneath this” trenches. Inspired by a chiaroscuro, Schwab’s vision plays with the contrast between light and dark, but cannot escape the dark side. Fortunately, even when he “lightens up”, he manages to keep the sensual aspects of this collection intact.
