London Fashion Week Coverage
Holly Fulton Fall 2012
When you’re in love, you walk with a more confident stride, cheeks flushed pink by the pleasure of attention. Holly Fulton presents a Fall/Winter 2012 collection for a woman in love. It centers on an electric pink-and-teal sensuality, framed by scoops of black and dove gray.
The show launches with a hot pink look that is printed with an architectural graphic – one that recalls the Girault’s wrought iron gates outside of the Petit Palais in Paris. Similar graphics find themselves on many of the clothes. Suit separates, sheath dresses, and tailored turtlenecks are the backdrop to a fetching array of kaleidoscope colors and patterns. Fulton’s strength lies in her ability to shrug off seasonal dictums and trends to find her own voice among the thronging crowd of London designers. This season, her voice can be heard in the hum of desire and yearning that keeps hopeless romantics forever on their quest for reciprocity.
