London Fashion Week Coverage
Mark Fast Fall 2012
With a confident air, Mark Fast took over the London Fashion Week runway and showed a straightforward, sexy collection that had his signature look all over it, but this time with more refinement. The skirts were still thigh-scraping, and the silhouette was a feminine hourglass, but there was some thoughtful restraint to these pieces.
A slightly grungy 90s mood launched the show, transmitted through ribbed knit dresses decorated in unfinished fringe. The belly-baring looks also recall some of the styles popular in the early 2000s. This is quickly undercut by a quartet of peachy/champagne looks that managed to look both innocent and seductive at the same time. Provocative cut-outs, clavicle revealing braided details and beaded cage overlays on the later looks were stalwartly sensual. Fast has a loyal clientele that are guaranteed to clamor for these racy yet sophisticated outfits.
