London Fashion Week Coverage

Roksanda Ilincic Fall 2012

Roksanda Illincic does not believe that one has to suffer for fashion, so much so that she dedicated her entire Fall/Winter 2012 to mellow, comfortable pieces. Contrariwise, comfort does not equal sloppiness. You can lounge around your house in these snuggly separates, but you’ll still be ready for a photo op at a moment’s notice.

Feminine silhouettes were blown up for a new maximized proportion, and came in luxe shades of navy, turquoise, fuchsia, and mauve. With a more voluminous proportion at work, this came off as a decidedly menswear-inspired collection. Oversized navy coats, with blips of gold thread skating across their surface, serve as anchoring pieces for fall. Contrasting fur panels added dimension to the shoulders of some dresses, but the use of fur on the Illincic runway was minimal overall. For its ease of wear and casual attitude, this collection was only missing one thing: a glass of wine and a roaring fire.
