Just Cavalli Spring 2012
As D&G wraps their last show, Just Cavalli – the smaller, more youthful line by Roberto Cavalli – ramps back up. Instead of working up slowly into a lather, Cavalli decides to launch us right into the sinuous sexiness of his latest endeavors. Feathers, furs, and miles of completely sheer tops and dresses were just the start.
Even with all that sexy sheer python and leopard print, cowboy hats and low riding trousers, there was some baroque detailing that grounded the collection. Carefully applied rows of studs and panels of velvet swirls were among the more mature aspects of this collection. However, this is meant to appeal almost solely to a single demographic and that is the young and moneyed nightclub goer who is a slave to fashion (and Cavalli). Fortunately for Cavalli, these types are legion.
