Milan Fashion Week Coverage

Sportmax Spring 2012

For a collection that was dominated by an essentially girly palette (blush pink, nude, mint blue, tan, blurry florals), this was not a very feminine collection. It wasn’t masculine either, but walked a fine line between both looks for something altogether different. One might argue that a fully pink dress that’s belted sweetly at the waist is feminine, but the fact that it came in this crisp cotton-blend fabric and no-nonsense lack of frills speaks to the contrary.

The trenches and jackets on the Sportmax runway are beautifully tailored, and perked up with slick silver lapels. The label lost their way a bit on the rainbow sheen top and sweater, and again on some of the shinier pieces. However, beautiful tailoring, an ample selection of matching suits, and rocking outerwear anchored this collection safely away from any other mishaps.
