Michael Kors Fall 2012

Can we just skip summer and head straight to fall? Michael Kors’ Fall/Winter 2012 collection is a sybaritic paean to cozy cabin dressing, and we want it now. This furry, textured collection is all about sporty luxury, a luxury that translates to any environment whether you hail from the city or the country.

Let’s talk fabrics/furs first: Raccoon, fox, shearling, and Mongolian lamb made this a touchable collection. The outerwear, decked out in rich natural and dyed furs made us ache to sink our fingers into their warm depths. Tweed suit separates were a smart and lean counterpoint to the voluminous outerwear Kors showed on the runway. Tartan and buffalo check ponchos came decked with fringe, and these same ponchos were later turned into chic skirts. For a collection that was entirely comprised of a palette of black, white, red, and navy, it still managed to be incredibly diverse and dense. These are the types of clothes that transmit a promise of a dream lifestyle.
