On the final day of Paris Fashion Week, Miu Miu stunned with a collection that dripped decadence and artistic expressionism. From humble origins, the presentation was bulked out with chubby, dyed fur wraps, leather smocked blouses, patent pencil skirts, and ombre robe coats. The looks simply scream, “Money, honey!” The conceit of all this is that the cuts were generous, the fabrics were mostly treated denim, and the collection was incredibly wearable.

For all of the flattering feminine pieces in this collection, there was an intense youthfulness to the way they were presented. Miuccia Prada dared to bare some flesh with bandeau tops underneath the boxy jackets, and the models sported tiny hipster bangs and cat-eye glasses. These factors added buoyancy to a heavy collection that met more with fall/winter expectations than spring/summer. She also blasted her silky frocks with abstract branches of paint. Next season, get frivolous, look expensive, and have fun in Miu Miu’s latest offerings.
